Fengtao Software has been in the DVD and video business for years. They have made a very good name for themselves with their popular DVD copy program, DVDFab. Therefore, we had very high expectations for VideoFab. However, we were disappointed to see that it was obvious VideoFab is still in its infancy.

VideoFab’s navigation focuses heavily on the video file to mobile feature. VideoFab Includes preset listings for all popular mobile devices including iPod, iPhone, Zune, PSP, Cell Phones, PS3 and more.
You can also convert your videos to more generic formats like AVI and WMV.

If you are familiar with Fengtao Software’s DVDFab you will find VideoFab to be extremely easy to use, but there is a bit of a learning curve for newbies.

VideoFab supports the input of most common file formats including avi, wmv, mpeg, mov, mp4, flv and more. We did find that although the software claims to support vob files we found that support to be inconsistent. In some cases it would accept a vob file, in others the software claimed the file was not supported.

VideoFab includes most common video converter features like selecting your video codec and adjusting your output dimensions and size. In most cases you can also choose your audio codec.

We like that you can batch convert multiple videos to multiple formats, but one feature we would like to see VideoFab include in future updates is the ability to merge multiple files into one large file, especially if there is additional support for vob files.

We’d also like to mention that VideoFab does not have the ability to rip DVDs from directly from the driver; nor does it read encrypted files. To copy a DVD and convert it to an iPod or other MP3 player you’ll have to use the DVDFab product with mobile option instead of VideoFab.

In addition to some of the program quirks, we found that VideoFab’s help and support was not up to their usual standard. We found that the program doesn’t include a built in help guide and all of the online tutorials and support is catered to DVDFab. However, the online forums are very helpful and active. Most of your questions can be answered in the forums.
