WinAVI is a simple application that performs simple functions. It isn’t really a bad program, so to speak, we were just sad to find that it’s conversion input and output options were limited, and it’s customization options were minimal.
Most of the tests we performed were successful, with the exception of VOV files. No matter how hard we tried we were unable to convert our VOB files. WinAVI’s is also completely incompatible with Apple formats and products. It does not support QuickTime, iPod, MP4 files or MOV files.
Some additional features include the ability to incorporate some minor effects and video adjustment, change the screen dimensions, frame rate and audio bitrate, and burn to DVDs. However, it can not merge files or convert audio.
Although WinAVI includes a comprehensive in-program help manual, that answered most of our questions, we did encounter an issue when submitting a support issue. The support ticket built into the manufacture’s website wouldn’t send. We had to copy the information to a personal email address an send our questions that way.
Our email was responded to, but our questions weren’t really answered.
