Although WinMPG looks like a simple application we had a little difficulty figuring out the program at first. Perhaps in this case its simplicity works against it. Additionally, we were unable to rename the video before sending it to the output folder.
According to the software WinMPG can convert all file formats to AVI, MPEG 1 and 2, VCD, DVD and Rmvb. However, we encountered problems when converting several file types.
Twice we tried to convert a WMV file to AVI and received a error message requiring us to close the program completely. When we converted a WMV to MPEG the software was converted the audio and video tracks separately. One of the few successful tests we had was converting a short VOB file to AVI.
